Absent Father

I was once reminded that the father is usually never in photographs. That is because traditionally or otherwise, it was usually Dad taking the photographs. I do try to get others to take photos but they don't seem to have the same interest. I digress. Anyway, the thing is that I have been absent on Theia's blog for some time. Lots has happened and I will try to update you. Theia has grown a lot since the last posting. She is now saying a few more words, the most frequent is NO.

She is still being breast fed but also enjoys eating just about anything we give her. She is a very warm and loving little girl with kisses and hugs for everyone she meets. As I type she is wiping my feet with a tissue and tickling my toes. She seems to enjoy playing with, hugging and kissing my feet. I have been taking loads of photos of her but we have not had time to get into the studio with her. We tend to go for a lot of walks with Theia on her trike or her new GoKart.

She has begun picking up the Montessori materials and using them. Most of her day is spent moving around the house inside or outside investigating things or else shadowing me or Angharad. Elkanah seems to be her favourite sibling and she gives him plenty of love.

Some of our friends are yet to meet Theia in the flesh so they are in for a treat. The blog helps to keep a running record of events in her life and I have shared these with her grandparents, who have now joined Facebook. I intend to start creating a digital storage facility for Theia as well as the other children where all the photos and documents are stored.

So that is about all for now as we settle down to watch yet another episode of Postman Pat or Q Pootle 5 or Bob the Builder. It has been lovely doing it all the fourth time around.

UPDATE

We now have a little girl who loves to dance. Theia has worked out how to operate the HiFi. So she chooses her own music Abba seems to be the main choice, and wiggles, dances and head bangs along to the music. It isn't only the HiFi she has worked with. She can now operate the mobile phone and touch screen. She plays Montessori apps. She is now very confident on her feet and sleeping patterns have improved. Lots of large back teeth coming through. Theia is still on a vegetarian diet and eats mainly organic produce. She is an absolute picture of health.

Christmas

Christmas has come and gone and Theia had a ball. Not a bouncy ball you understand. It was a lovely day with a modest amount of gifts shared between us. Theia opened her presents and played with the rocking horse. So far the most used gift has been a DVD of 101 dalmations. We had prepared most of the lunch the previous evening so it wasn't much work setting up and sitting down together with Theia in her high chair.

The weather wan't good enough to venture out so we stayed in and listened to the radio. We did get some video footage and I will see if I can upload that. New Years's Eve was quiet although Theia surfaced just before midnight to see the new year in with us.

Theia is now taking quite a few confident steps. She is also playing games like passing objects, posting shapes and building blocks. Theia is also trying hard to speak and sing. She loves music and dances to just about anything.

We are now looking forward to better weather and being able to take her out again for long walks. The summer will be spent at the local beach. The boys are as great as ever with her and continue to help us around the home. We are lucky to have two such lovely boys.
